Friday math due and Salt water lab

September 9th Homework:
  • Math: Friday math do another section of the packet
  • Science: Finish polishing your picture of your observations from the salt. This means going over the drawing with a sharpie and neat writing. If possible take a picture of it and upload it to your website or e-mail the picture to yourself.

Class Work:
September 8th Homework:
  • Write in planner that we will be going to the Miller Center mod 7 on Wednesday for orientation to their space, show this note to your parents.
  • Science finish the writing conclusions worksheet, both pages.
  • Math: Weekly math worksheet 1/3 of it and X-tra Matheach night..

September 11:

  • Science: Today we completed an open notebook assignment to assess skills in conclusion writing and identifying false conclusions and determining which variables to control.
  • Math: We are still working on word problems solving for part to total ratios. This is tricky work and will take some practice but everyone is progressing well.



September 10:

  • Math Class: Today in class we learned a new "w" method for finding equivalent fractions. We also worked on part to total ratio word problems which can be tricky to solve. Friday Math due tomorrow.
  • Science: Students are getting really good at writing lab reports and conclusions. Ask to see their on-line Salt Water Lab which is due tomorrow.



September 9th:

  • Math class we continued working with ratios and finding equivalent ratios.
  • Science we are polishing our first lab report with assignment guidelines and rubrics.



September 8th

  • Tomorrow (9/9) Synergy Team will go to the Miller Center for an orientation during mod 7.
  • Science Class we continued to practice writing good conclusions. We also learned how to make a graph to support the data. The weblink is Create A Graph
    • A good conclusion states what the problem is, your hypothesis, what you were thinking before the experiment and the results as they relate back to the hypothesis and then a final concluding sentence.
  • Math Class we used our tape diagram method to solve for missing ratios using the ThinkingBlocks Ratio website.
